The La Residence kitchen team has always been inspired by the ingredients and culinary traditions of the Franschhoek Valley. Food is a powerful medium for telling stories, and by sourcing seasonal ingredients locally, they are able to create authentic dining experiences. The Valley is a magical location, and the chefs capture that in every mouthful and flavour combination.
La Residence is the perfect place in which to delight all your senses, and nowhere is that truer than in the dining spaces. Liz Biden’s eclectic, maximalist designs for La Residence, and her choice of artworks, perfectly reflect the culinary philosophy and the ever-changing menus. The food offering – just like the décor – combines contrasting and complementary elements to tell the stories of the property, and the valley and mountains beyond it.

Enjoy the perfect start to your day with a suitably indulgent breakfast. Opt for healthy grains and fresh seasonal fruits, or peruse the enticing hot breakfast menu and continental selection including cold meats, cheeses and delicious home-baked pastries. Whatever you have planned for the day, be sure to never miss breakfast. Non-residents are welcome by prior reservation only.
Linger over lunch

La Residence is undoubtedly one of the most scenic lunch spots in Franschhoek, with the views and menus being perfectly complemented by expert wine recommendations from our extensive list. Choose from an array of venues, including the iconic Loggia overlooking the pond, and find new favourite dishes amongst the carefully curated and ever-changing menu.
Afternoon Tea at La Residence

Surrounded as we are by vineyards and the rugged mountains that define the Franschhoek valley, here at La Residence we’re very conscious of Nature’s rhythms and the cycle of the seasons.
La Residence’s Afternoon Tea offering is inspired by fresh, local, seasonal produce, and is adapted to reflect these changes throughout the year. View our seasonal Afternoon Tea menu below.
Afternoon Tea at La Residence costs R495 per person (for a minimum of two people) and includes a selection of four sweet treats and four savoury delights, water and a choice of one coffee/tea/juice per person. Gratuities and other beverages are excluded.
To confirm a booking, we require full payment (including a 12% service fee for groups of six or more). Please let us know about any specific dietary requirements when you make your reservation.
Dinner
SERVED DAILY | 18h30 – 23h30 (last seating at 20h00)
End the day with a delectable dinner and something special from our extensive wine list as you experience the palatial La Residence dining area known as The Great Hall. Resplendent with sparkling chandeliers, black and white Victorian tiles and inviting fireplaces, this is a diner’s dream. Enjoy the flavours of the Franschhoek Valley as you embark on a culinary journey at your own pace in the opulent yet cosy ambience.

Join one of our renowned chefs for a completely personalised and interactive experience.
